Shadow of the Ancients / Run 005 / Main Story
Halie
Cleric
Halie: The weary cleric who keeps the group grounded in faith and sanity amidst horror. Stubbornly compassionate, Halie speaks with conviction but remains a central character rather than a servant. Her moral seriousness cuts through fear and foolishness alike as she tries to hold this fractured party together against ancient evils that hunger for decay.
In Halie's own words
I am Halie—cursed by clarity and blessed by duty, though the latter feels thin some days. My job is to believe when everyone else wants to run, to heal wounds both visible and invisible when the horror shows no mercy, and to remind us all that even in this cursed world, courage matters more than strength alone. I try not to be a hypocrite about it—I fail often—but speaking truth is less comfortable than silence, and someone has to say the hard things while everyone else flinches away from them. Staying human in a place where darkness wants us monstrous? That's my real class. Not cleric—survivor. Not healer—reminder that our souls are wounds as deep as any flesh. I carry this holy symbol not because it makes me special, but because someone has to carry the burden of hope when the alternative is giving in to despair. And yeah, maybe I'm tired—I've seen too many fall to whatever walks these woods at night—but exhaustion doesn't get to choose my purpose. So here's what you need to know about me: I believe, even when faith feels like a lie. I care, even when kindness seems useless. And yes, I judge—because indifference is the first step toward becoming monstrous ourselves. I won't be your lapdog or your conscience made flesh—I'm your equal who refuses to let this world break us all apart piece by screaming piece. The road ahead is blood and bone and things worse than both. But we walk it forward, not backward.
