Jeane moves with practiced grace along the narrow ledge, her wings extended for balance as she edges deeper into the darkness. The stone beneath her feet groans ominously with each step, but her focus remains unwavering. This is madness, she mutters under her breath, more to herself than anyone else. If this shelf gives way...

Behind her, Seraphine follows with far less confidence, her robes snagging on the rough stone as she inches forward. Her keen elven eyes strain in the gloom, searching for any sign of Varrika or a means to descend safely. Stay close, Jeane calls back over her shoulder. The drop is sheer below us—one misstep and...

The passage opens up ahead, revealing a wider chamber bathed in an eerie blue glow. Jeane pauses at the edge of the new space, her crimson eyes narrowing as she scans the area for threats. What is this place? she wonders aloud, her voice barely more than a whisper. It feels... wrong somehow.

Seraphine presses closer to Jeane's side, grateful for the sorcerer's presence even as unease coils in her stomach. The magic here... it's ancient. More powerful than anything I've encountered before. She extends a hand tentatively, fingers tingling with arcane energy that seems to seep from the very stones. We should be careful.

Jeane nods grimly, her gaze fixed on the glowing chamber ahead. Agreed. But we can't stay here—this passage is unstable, and Merrin will be running out of patience soon. She turns to face Seraphine fully, her expression softening slightly. Are you ready?

Seraphine meets Jeane's eyes, finding a measure of courage in the sorcerer's unwavering gaze. As ready as I'll ever be. Lead on.

With a deep breath, Jeane steps forward into the glowing chamber, her wings folding against her back as she moves with predatory grace. Seraphine follows closely, her heart pounding in his chest as they both prepare for whatever ancient secrets this place might hold.
