Seraphine’s voice trembled as she spoke the words, her fingers tightening around the Time-Splitting Sword’s hilt until her knuckles turned white. The ancient weapon pulsed with an otherworldly light, casting eerie shadows that danced across the chamber walls like macabre puppets. She felt a jolt of electricity course through her body as dark tendrils snaked up her arms, their touch both painful and strangely exhilarating.

Jeane watched her friend’s transformation with growing alarm, her crimson eyes wide with concern. The tall succubus woman took an instinctive step back, her wings half-spreading in a defensive gesture before she caught herself. “Seraphine?” Her voice was barely more than a whisper, laden with confusion and fear.

The air crackled with magical energy as the chamber seemed to hold its breath in anticipation. The runes on the pillars flickered erratically, their patterns shifting and changing like living tattoos. And then, as if responding to Seraphine’s words, the mirror’s surface rippled violently, flattening out to reveal a dark, mirror-like reflection of the elf woman.

Seraphine’s eyes widened in shock as she stared at her own image—except it wasn’t quite right. The reflection moved with a will of its own, its gaze fixed on Seraphine with an unsettling intensity that made even this experienced scholar pause. Jeane’s voice echoed around them, her words laced with sarcasm and genuine concern, but the wizard could feel the power radiating from the portal within the glass. It was a pull unlike anything she’d ever known.

“I see it,” she whispered, her voice hoarse with awe and a hint of fear. “It's not just my reflection... it's a gateway. A portal to something else entirely.” The dark tendrils around her arms pulsed in response, sending another jolt of electricity through her system.
