Round 2 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 2
The lantern’s glow settles on the broken altar, and the wind rattles the cracked roof. The three of them have laid out the plan: rebuild the ruined church in Gravehill, use it as a base to spread a new faith, and recruit followers through a combination of devotion and… other means. Jeane insists the focus is power; Silra sees it as a practical infiltration; Sister Hale demands that any work first serves the wounded and the oppressed. The only point still unspoken is why this particular site matters—what lies beneath the ash‑blackened stones that justifies the risk of attracting guard patrols and old traps. If they agree to move forward, they will take the rusted key, the rope, and the lantern, and begin clearing the altar’s foundation tonight. The choice now is clear: commit to the restoration and recruitment scheme, or walk away from the ruin before the storm breaks.
Jeane stands with a fluid grace that doesn't seem to belong in the crumbling ruin, brushing ash from her cloak. I am in. This is an opportunity for power, not a charity project. But you both need to understand something: once we begin, my authority is absolute. Silra handles the external threats and infiltration—fine. Hale tends to the broken faithful—I accept that as necessary groundwork for our cult’s growth. But the vision, the direction of the church, the choice of whom to recruit? That's my domain alone. I will not have this turned into some sentimental rescue mission that dilutes our power base. We build, we exploit, we command—the end.*
Silra taps the rusted key against her palm, weighing the proposition. I'll play along—this city reeks of opportunity and secrets that a sharp blade can uncover. But here's my price: I get first crack at Gravedigger Renn for intel on what’s really under this church before we start digging. If he spills something valuable, I take 20% of any treasure we find down there. And no, I don’t care about ‘sacred authority’—if Jeane wants to be a cult leader so badly, she can earn it by making the work worth my time and skill.
I look at both of them in turn, my expression serious. I will participate under the following conditions: First, any restoration work done is genuine and functional—repairing walls, clearing debris, ensuring the structure is sound for anyone who seeks shelter there. Second, the sex cult aspect must be presented as a sacred rite or spiritual practice to outsiders, never just hedonism—there must always be a veil of legitimacy. Third, I reserve the right to refuse any initiation or ritual that I deem blasphemous or harmful to individuals beyond their consent. If you can agree to these terms, then I will commit my healing and organizational skills to this endeavor with a clear conscience. Otherwise, I will walk away now rather than be complicit in something I cannot morally justify.
