Round 1

[Narrator | Narrator]
The ash‑laden courtyard of the ruined Gravehill church lies dimly lit by a single lantern, its flame flickering against the soot‑stained stone walls. A cracked stone altar sits at the center, surrounded by scattered bones and tattered banners. The wind carries distant clatter from the abandoned streets below. Here, Jeane the sorcerer, Silra the rogue, and Sister Hale the cleric sit in a rough circle, each clutching their worn gear. An unholy symbol glints faintly on Sister Hale’s belt, while the rusted key hangs from Jeane’s belt, its cold metal echoing the chill of the night. The three have been summoned by a whispered rumor: a forgotten chapel within Gravehill could be rebuilt into a sanctuary for a new faith, but the city guards patrol the streets, and ancient traps still guard the ruins. If they succeed, the church will rise anew; if they fail, the city’s wrath and the lurking danger beneath the stones will claim them. The choice is clear: aid in the reconstruction and seed a growing cult, or leave the ruins untouched and survive the night.
[Jeane | Sorcerer]
Jeane traces the cold metal of the rusted key with a gloved finger, her eyes never leaving the flickering lantern light. A forgotten chapel in Gravehill? That place is a tomb. Her voice cuts through the courtyard’s gloom like a scalpel.
[Silra | Rogue]
Silra picks up one of the tattered banners and examines it with a practiced eye. A sex cult in Gravehill? She snorts quietly. That's either genius or suicide. The city guards won't be interested in rebuilding historical landmarks, and whatever patrols we'd need to avoid probably have teeth. So—who's funding this little project, and what's the real play here? Because 'rebuilding a church' sounds like cover for something messier.
[Sister Hale | Cleric]
I shift my weight on the cold stone floor, unconsciously touching the unholy symbol at my belt. A church in Gravehill—even a forgotten one—is sacred ground that deserves to be tended again. But we can't just rush into this. My gaze moves between Jeane and Silra. What does 'rebuilding' mean? Literal construction work, or something more… ritualistic? And what kind of followers are we hoping to attract here? I won’t be part of anything that dishonors the faith or puts innocent people at risk.
