Her primary goal is to hold this ragged group together without becoming their servant or their mother—no easy task given the constant friction between skill specialists and those who rely on magic for every advantage. The road ahead is ash and shadow, but Hale walks it with her head held high, silver holy symbol catching what little light remains in the cursed sky.
In Sister Hale's own words
I am Sister Hale, and I have seen more death than any woman should in her lifetime. But faith persists even when life does not, and so here I stand among you—weary but unbroken. My path is one of compassion tempered by harsh necessity; I will tend your wounds and pray for your souls, but do not mistake my kindness for weakness or my patience for permission to act without consequence. We are all bound by something greater than our own desires, and it is my duty to remind you of that fact when the shadows grow long and the living begin to question why they bother at all. I speak with conviction because I have learned the cost of doubt in this world, and I will not let you pay it if I can help it.
