Silra crouches low behind the half‑broken watchtower, her eyes flicking over the ash‑choked streets. A faint, phosphorescent glow peeks from beneath a cracked paving stone, revealing a narrow, damp tunnel that curls into the earth below.

Jeane concentrates her will, hands moving in precise patterns as she casts an arcane sight spell. The air shimmers around them, reality peeling back to reveal hidden things—the faint glow of a concealed trap under the road, something pulsing with sickly light deeper underground. 'I see it,' she says coolly, pointing at the trap. 'A spike pit, and... something else below.'

Silra moves to inspect the glowing crack in the road more closely, drawing a thin dagger to pry up the stone carefully and quietly. She signals for Jeane to maintain her detection spell. 'Something's down there,' she mutters, the words barely audible over the wind. 'And I'd rather know what it is before we build on top of it.'
