The air was heavy with the stench of decay and death, clinging to the ruined city like a shroud. In the distance, the skeletal spires of Gravehill's church reached toward the sky, their stone walls cracked and crumbling. A lone figure emerged from the darkness, a hood pulled up over her head, her eyes fixed on the bridge ahead. She moved with a sense of urgency, her long strides eating up the ground as she called out to Sister Hale.

"Wait!" Jeane's voice cut through the oppressive silence, laced with a sense of desperation. "We need to move!" Sister Hale turned, her gaze snapping to Jeane as she peered into the shadows beneath the bridge. The ground beneath the bridge shuddered again, and the scraping sound of claws on stone grew louder, sending a chill down Sister Hale's spine.

"What can we do?" Sister Hale asked Jeane, her voice laced with desperation. The dark shape on the bridge was now mere feet away from the spot where Sister Hale had been, its claws scraping at empty air where she had seconds before. Jeane's eyes were fixed on the creature, her face set in a determined expression as she finished her teleportation spell. With a surge of power, she yanked Sister Hale to safety beside her, completing the incantation just as the ground beneath them shuddered. Something massive was moving below the road now, scuttling toward their position with horrifying speed.

Jeane's spell left her winded; the effort showed in every line of her face and body. She leaned against Sister Hale, her eyes scanning the surrounding area for any sign of shelter or higher ground. The lantern at their belts flickered pathetically in the oppressive darkness, casting eerie shadows on the ground. Sister Hale frowned, processing a discrepancy in her memory tool - if she had heard those creatures clearly enough to mention them in round 2, why couldn't she recall them now? The issue nagged at her, but pressing it wouldn't change their immediate predicament. They needed shelter or higher ground before whatever was under the road decided to collapse the road entirely.
