As Sister Hale stood firm, her eyes locked on the chitinous limb that had burst forth from the darkness, Gravedigger Renn cowered beneath her, his fear evident in every tremble of his body. The air was heavy with the stench of decay and corruption, and the ground shuddered violently once more as a crack of thunder boomed overhead. Sister Hale swiftly pulled Gravedigger Renn back from the limb's reach, shielding him with her own body. "That thing isn't just hunting—it's herding us toward something worse," she spat ash from her lips, her voice low and urgent.
The rasping voice echoed again, closer this time: 'Turn back...while you still can.' But Sister Hale refused to yield, her grip on the unholy symbol tightening as she locked eyes with the monstrous creature. The silence was oppressive, punctuated only by the distant rumble of thunder and the faint scratching sounds from beneath the ash-covered street.
