The city guard leader eyes Gravedigger Renn warily before addressing the party. "What's going on here? We've had reports of strange noises and movements in the area." As he speaks, a massive chitinous limb bursts forth from the darkness beneath the street, its claws scraping against stone mere inches from Jeane's face. The voice whispers again, its words dripping with malevolent glee: 'You should have listened...'

The party exchanges nervous glances as the guard leader takes another step back, his hand tightening on his sword hilt. "We need to get out of here," he growls. "This is getting too hot." Suddenly, a loud scuttling noise echoes from beneath the street, growing louder with each passing moment. Gravedigger Renn's eyes dart between the guards and the tunnel system below, his voice trembling with fear. "P-please, you have to believe me! There's something down there, something that's been awakened." The party must decide how to respond: stand their ground, try to reason with the guards, or attempt to flee into the nearby abandoned church.
