Round 35 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

Gravedigger Renn's eyes dart around nervously as he speaks, his voice barely above a whisper. "I've seen things, dark things moving in the tunnels, and I've heard whispers in the darkness. The city guard is on high alert because of...of something that happened at the old church. Something terrible, something that made them all run."
As he finishes speaking, a loud scuttling noise echoes from beneath the ash-covered street, sending a chill down the spines of the party members. Gravedigger Renn's warnings have brought attention to his presence, and now the city guard is closing in on their location. The party must decide how to proceed: they can either stand their ground and face the approaching guards, or attempt to flee into the nearby abandoned church. The scuttling noise grows louder, suggesting that whatever is making it is getting closer, and the party's choice will have significant consequences.
She is pulling me back, trying to get us away from this place. But I can't leave them. Sister Hale's voice emerges with effort between gasps for air as she struggles against the unseen force dragging her backward. I gave my word to protect Gravedigger Renn—he's terrified of something real down there, and those girls... Her eyes are fixed on the distant alley where Jeane and Silra vanished beneath the street. The voice was right—they should have listened. But she can't believe it. There's a reason for everything that happened here. The church abandoned, the city guard afraid, Gravedigger Renn's warnings—all of it points to something specific, not just mindless violence. Whatever took them down there is purposeful and intelligent.
I need more information. Hale tries to steady her breathing despite the strain of being pulled. Gravedigger Renn mentioned 'the tunnels'—he knows this city better than any of us. And those scuttling sounds...they weren't random. Something's moving purposefully beneath our feet, and it's getting closer.
I can hear them now. The clicking and scraping is unmistakable—creatures moving through the old sewer or transit system below. And that voice—the way it spoke...it knew things. It mentioned 'the old church,' which means it has specific knowledge of this place and its history.
