The storm's fury was a living thing, its darkness seeping into every pore of the ruined city like a chill. In the midst of this tempest, a lone figure stood, her back to the wind, her eyes fixed on Gravedigger Renn as he trembled before her. The air was heavy with tension, and the distant rumble of thunder seemed to grow louder, as if the storm itself was a witness to their conversation.
Gravedigger Renn's frantic warnings continued to echo through the air, his words trembling as he attempted to explain the situation. "I've seen things, dark things moving in the tunnels, and I've heard whispers in the darkness," he stammered out. "The city guard is on high alert because of...of something that happened at the old church. Something terrible, something that made them all run."
Jeane's gaze narrowed, her mind already racing with possibilities. She had expected this - the tools had predicted it, after all. The city guard was on edge, and Gravedigger Renn's warnings were just the latest in a series of ominous signs. Sister Hale stood beside him, her torn clothes and shaking hands a testament to the turmoil that had beset them.
Jeane reached out and grasped Gravedigger Renn's arm, her grip firm but gentle. "Tell me more," she urged, her eyes never leaving his face. The storm raged on, its darkness closing in around them like a shroud, as if it too was waiting to see what secrets they would uncover.
