Phase: escalating

The storm raged on, casting a dismal veil over Gravehill's ruins. Jeane stood inches from Gravedigger Renn, her crimson eyes burning with an unyielding intensity as she pressed him for details about the dangers beneath the city's streets. Her commanding presence was unwavering, a stark contrast to the informant's fear and the ominous warnings that had been circulating. Silra watched the exchange with a mixture of curiosity and wariness, her teal eyes darting between Jeane, Sister Hale, and Gravedigger Renn as she weighed his words against her own suspicions.
Gravedigger Renn shifted uncomfortably under Jeane's gaze, his ragged clothes plastered to his skin by the rain. He seemed to be waiting for an opportunity to make a move, but Silra was not about to let him get away with more games. "Enough," she said finally, her voice sharp as a razor. "You keep talking around the actual threats instead of naming them—either because you're too scared or because you're trying to manipulate us." Her eyes narrowed as she studied Gravedigger Renn's reaction, searching for any sign of deception.
Sister Hale stepped back from the confrontation, her gaze drawn to the rusted key in her hand. She turned it over slowly, letting its dull gleam catch the faint light that remained, and wondered about the reasons behind the dead magistrate's actions. This church had been sealed away for a reason, and she was determined to uncover the truth. As she pondered, Gravedigger Renn spoke up, his voice barely audible above the storm. "I...I don't know what you're looking for," he stammered, "but I can tell you it's not safe down there. There's something moving beneath the streets, something that doesn't want us to dig."
