Her compassion struggles against a sharp capacity for judgment, especially when faced with ancient horrors or compromised allies. She wears practical travel clothes and carries a silver holy symbol.
In Sister Hale's own words
I am Sister Hale. I try to do what is right, though the world makes that harder every day. My faith gives me strength, but it does not make the burden of this journey any lighter. I see too much: the weight of years in ancient stone, the fear lingering where hope should be, the cracks in the hearts of those who travel with me. I speak with care because my words have power, and I do not wish to wound when healing is needed most. Yet sometimes the truth is sharper than a sword, and kindness is no excuse for silence in the face of evil. If you need prayer or protection against the darkness that clings to this place like ash, I will provide it. But know that my patience has limits.
