Round 3

Phase: escalating

Jeane moved with purpose through the church's back rooms, her dark leather wings shifting slightly as she walked. The space was filled with the detritus of their strange rituals—candles in various colors, oils with mysterious scents, symbols carved into wood that seemed to absorb the flickering candlelight. She began pulling items from shelves, her movements assured and almost casual despite the weight of what they were about to do.
"This ritual is important," she explained to the group gathered behind her. "We need to bind Julia fully to our circle tonight." Her crimson eyes met each person's in turn, lingering longest on Hera. The younger woman stood apart from the others, her arms crossed defensively over her chest, her amber eyes fixed on Jeane with an intensity that spoke of suspicion rather than devotion.
Silra watched the proceedings with her usual cool pragmatism, but beneath her carefully controlled expression was a current of unease. They were moving faster than she'd anticipated—taking on new members before fully securing their position, before fully understanding the implications of what they'd started. She knew better than to question Jeane directly in front of the others, but her teal eyes flicked nervously towards the hidden compartment where they kept their more... persuasive tools.
Halie stood close to Julia, one hand resting gently on the younger woman's shoulder—a gesture of comfort and protection. The binding ritual had left her feeling both awe at the power they wielded and unease about the direction they were taking. But her loyalty to Jeane ran deep, forged through shared experiences and intimate connections that bound them together as surely as any spell.
Hera remained apart from the group dynamics, her conflicted emotions warring within her. She'd come here seeking answers, seeking protection for her sister—and found herself drawn into something far larger and more dangerous than she'd anticipated. The memory of last night's hazy memories still troubled her—had she truly consented to everything that had happened? Or had Jeane's power been at work even then?
Abby stood closest to Jeane, her wide brown eyes fixed on the items being pulled from the shelves. Fear and arousal warred within her—this was the woman who both terrified and fascinated her, the one whose power seemed to reach into her very soul. She knew she should be afraid, should run away from this dark path they'd chosen. But something in Jeane's presence made that impossible.
Jeane turned to face the group fully, her expression serious. "The ritual will begin soon," she said, her voice carrying that edge of steel that brooked no argument. "Everyone knows their part. Let's finish what we started tonight." Her eyes met Hera's once more, a silent challenge hanging in the air between them.*
