The two men by the church entrance turn at the sound of approaching footsteps, hands moving instinctively toward their weapons. They're local civilians, not cultists - which makes them both more dangerous and less predictable than the demons they're clearly hunting.

Jeane freezes mid-sentence as she realizes the implications. Armed locals pointing guns at us? That's a whole different fucking problem than dealing with cultist assholes. The woman from upstairs stumbling out looking completely fucked-up on whatever those asshole demons dosed us with? Hera Oh god oh fuck what do we do? My heart pounds in my chest as I stare down the barrels of those guns, hands shaking slightly even though I'm trying to keep them steady. Jeane's right - we can't just rush these guys or they'll open fire for sure. But standing here letting them point weapons at us feels wrong on every level too.
