The woman freezes mid-step, eyes widening as she takes in Jeane's full form—naked, winged, clearly doing something untoward in a church. She fumbles for her phone with shaking hands, thumbs hovering over emergency buttons.

Silra's voice cuts through the tension: cold, logical, and utterly terrifying. "We abort unless you have a specific plan for this," she hisses at Jeane. "Do not engage further without strategy."

Halie emerges from the basement behind Silra, looking pale but determined. "Maybe I can—" She starts, then stops as everyone looks at her expectantly.

In the corner of your vision, you notice movement upstairs—Hera is creeping down the main hall towards the commotion, clearly curious despite the danger. Abby presses closer to Jeane, her breath coming faster with fear and excitement.

Silra

Silra · Rogue

Silra's teal eyes track every movement—the woman's hands shaking as she reaches for her phone, the way her gaze keeps flicking back to Jeane's wings. This is a calculation gone wrong: we're not ready for witnesses and naked cult recruitment is an express train to jail. We need leverage or escape, not small talk with someone reporting us. "Jeane," I call sharply, "if those hands dial anyone, we leave now through the back exit before she finishes the call." My fingers brush the doorframe, ready to slam it shut if needed. "Choose: intimidate her into silence or retreat before backup arrives."

Jeane

Jeane · Sorcerer

Jeane's wings beat once, hard, sending a gust of air through the doorway and making her naked form shift in the sunlight. "Good morning!" she calls again, louder this time—confidence layered over calculation. "Beautiful day for... prayer, wouldn't you say?"

She doesn't move from the threshold but lets her hands fall loose at her sides, ready to gesture or defend as needed. The woman's trembling fingers on her phone are a clear signal: one wrong word and we're done before we begin. "We were just admiring this beautiful church," Jeane continues, voice smooth despite her racing heart. "Such history here—have you ever wondered about the rites* they performed inside?"

The shift is subtle but deliberate—moving from casual neighbor to someone who knows things, hints at knowledge rather than stating it outright. She feels Abby press closer behind her, the younger woman's nervous energy palpable against her bare skin. Downstairs, Jeane can sense Silra's disapproval radiating up like heat from a furnace.

This is a gamble with high stakes. But if this woman leaves scared or intrigued rather than calling authorities... that's a win. "You seem curious," Jeane adds with a smile that doesn't quite reach her eyes.* "Come closer, I can show you something truly remarkable about this altar."
