Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

Jeane's wings slowly folded and tucked themselves against her back, the leathery appendages disappearing beneath her elegant cloak with a soft rustle. The abandoned church's air was still thick with the scent of dust and old wood, but now there was an undercurrent of something else—a musky sweetness that spoke of recent, vigorous activity. We should make ourselves presentable before the neighbors become curious, she said, her voice a low purr as she began to adjust her clothing. The last thing we need is for some nosy homeowner to stumble upon our little gathering. Her red eyes glinted with amusement, though there was an underlying edge of seriousness. Jeane's thoughts turned to the task at hand—the creation of a new cult dedicated solely to the pleasures of women. It was a bold move, one that required careful planning and execution. But she had no doubt in her mind that they could succeed. After all, what woman wouldn't want to join a secret society devoted entirely to their own carnal desires? Silra, Halie, I need you both to keep watch, Jeane instructed, her voice taking on a more commanding tone. Make sure no one approaches the church while we're inside. The two women nodded in unison, their expressions showing both respect and excitement at being given such an important task. With Silra and Halie stationed outside, Jeane turned her attention to Hera and Abby, who were still trying to catch their breath after their intense encounter. A small smile played across her lips as she watched them, feeling a surge of pride at how well they had responded to her ministrations. You two did beautifully, she said, her voice soft but firm. But I'm afraid our work here is far from done. She moved closer to them, running a hand through Hera's disheveled hair before cupping Abby's cheek gently. We need to discuss the next steps for our little club.
Jeane's mind raced with possibilities as she considered how best to proceed. They needed a plan—a way to recruit new members while keeping their activities hidden from prying eyes. And most importantly, they needed a safe space where they could continue to explore the depths of their desires without fear of interruption or discovery. What do you think we should focus on first? she asked, looking from Hera to Abby and back again. Recruitment? A meeting place? Or perhaps… Her voice trailed off as her eyes roamed over their bodies, still flushed with exertion and desire. More practical matters?
I watched Jeane's wings tuck themselves away with an appraiser's eye—as smooth and controlled as ever, even when her body was clearly still thrumming from whatever spell she'd just woven into herself. The church air had gone thick and sweet; it wasn't dust anymore, or old wood. It smelled like her. I didn't trust that scent. I trusted lust less. "Hera," I said, voice dry, "Abby—you both might want to step out for a moment." Hera blinked at me, looking confused, and Abby was already shifting toward the door with some sixth sense for trouble I couldn't see. Good instincts, at least. Jeane turned her head slowly, eyes finding mine, and there was something in that look—a heat that had nothing to do with spellwork and everything to do with being a woman who'd just discovered a way to feel things more deeply than before. I held her gaze evenly. "Careful what you wish for," I told her softly. "Magic doesn't just amplify your power—it amplifies everything."
Her lips curved, not quite smiling yet. "Then I'll take the risk." She stepped toward me, and I saw Halie's hand come up instinctively, as if to steady herself or maybe intervene—I wasn't sure which—but Jeane didn't stop moving. I didn't back away either. I never did when cornered. Instead, I reached into my pocket for a small glass vial filled with shimmering blue liquid. It was a truth serum I'd been working on—a cocktail of herbs and alchemical reagents that would loosen the tongue without dulling the senses. If this situation spiraled out of control, I wanted to know why. "Jeane," I said, holding up the vial between us like a shield, "what exactly did you do back there? Because that didn't look like any standard spellwork I've seen before."
She paused, close enough now that I could feel the heat radiating off her skin. Her pupils were still dilated, dark and wide with something hungry. "It was... personal research," she said, voice low. "Into sensation. Into power."
I unscrewed the vial's cap one-handed while keeping my eyes on hers. The blue liquid caught what little light there was in the church, gleaming faintly. "Then you won't mind explaining it to me," I offered casually. "Over a drink. My place. We can talk about power dynamics all you want."
I held out the vial toward her, not as a threat but as an invitation—an alternative. If she took it willingly, I'd know she had nothing to hide. If she refused... well, then we'd have bigger problems than just lust-addled spellcasting. The ball was in her court now.
Halie rose slowly from her seat on the floor, her exhausted muscles protesting every movement. The church's heavy air seemed to press down on her shoulders—not just dust and age anymore, but something else too. Something that made her skin prickle with awareness. Jeane. Her voice carried a note of warning she couldn't quite keep out. What have you done? She didn't need to finish the question—the scent alone answered it, thick and musky and unmistakable. She moved toward Jeane, her steps measured but purposeful, one hand reaching for the holy symbol at her neck as if it could ward off whatever spell the sorceress had just cast upon herself. Upon all of them. We cannot stay here like this, Halie said, her tone leaving no room for argument even as she struggled to keep her own body from responding to the sweet heaviness that seemed to cling to every surface now. This is... inappropriate. Especially with Hera and Abby still present, their civilian eyes wide with confusion. She turned to Silra next, searching the rogue's face for understanding—or at least shared concern. We need to clear this air before it does something we cannot undo. Before it breaks the fragile pact of control they'd established in these early runs together. Halie moved toward the church doors, her hands already forming a prayer for clean air and clarity—even as she felt the heat gathering low in her belly, responding to Jeane's spell despite her best efforts. Open wide, she intoned, though whether she meant the door or their minds remained unclear even to herself. She waited, not quite praying, as the scene resolved around them all.
Hera takes in a deep breath, feeling the weight of the air on her skin. Her nostrils flare, catching the scent that seems to have settled over the abandoned church like a second skin. Jeane's scent. She can't help the way her body reacts, a shiver running down her spine as she feels the hairs on the back of her neck stand on end. It's not just the smell, either—it's the knowledge of what that scent represents. The power, the danger, the potential for pleasure and pain all rolled into one. Hera's eyes flick over to Jeane, taking in the way the sorceress moves with a newfound grace and confidence. She knows that Jeane has always been powerful, but there's something different about her now. Something more. A part of Hera aches to know what it is, to feel it for herself. But she knows better than to act on that impulse. Not here, not now. Not when they're so close to their goal. She takes a step forward, her boots echoing in the stillness of the church. "We should keep moving," she says, her voice barely above a whisper. "We're almost there."
The others nod, Silra and Halie falling into step behind her as they make their way deeper into the abandoned building. Hera can feel the weight of Jeane's gaze on her back, but she doesn't dare look back. Not yet. Not until they've reached the heart of this place. The center of the cult's power. And then? Then all bets are off.
I stand at the edge of the circle formed by Jeane's wings, my heart hammering against my ribs like a trapped bird. The scent that hangs in the air is intoxicating, thick and sweet and utterly overwhelming. It clings to every surface, making my head spin with its sheer intensity. Jeane stands there, her back to us all, but even now I can see the tremor running through her frame.
I look around at Hera and Silra, their faces reflecting the same stunned confusion mine must hold. This is new. This... this isn’t what we were expecting when we came here. But then again, nothing about being with Jeane is ever quite what you expect. Her power seems to have a mind of its own, twisting and turning in ways that both terrify and excite me.
My eyes drift back to Jeane's still form. She hasn't moved, hasn't spoken since the ritual ended. A part of me wants to reach out, to ask if she’s alright, but another, stronger part holds me back. Jeane doesn’t like to be disturbed during her spells.
"I... I think we should leave her alone," I murmur to no one in particular, my voice so faint it's nearly lost in the silence of the church. My gaze falls on a pile of old robes near the altar, an idea forming in my mind.* "Maybe if we clean up, she'll be ready to talk when she's done."
