Halie
Cleric
Halie steps forward into the candlelit center of the church, her eyes moving from face to face among the gathered women. She takes in the nervous energy crackling between them—as Hera and Abby cling together, as Silra assesses every shadow with cold precision, as Jeane's wings rustle with barely contained desire. She feels a familiar warmth spread through her chest—the kind that comes from witnessing genuine connection forming before her eyes—but also a heavy weariness. This group needs leadership, but she refuses to become their servant or their enabler. She speaks with measured conviction: "Sisters, we stand at the threshold of something powerful. But remember—power without wisdom is a curse."
In Halie's own words
I am Halie, and I carry the weight of too many burdens already. My faith was once simpler, back before I saw what people truly are capable of in the name of pleasure or power or even love. Now I look at you all—Hera clinging to Abby for comfort, Silra calculating every angle, Jeane barely contained—and I feel only exhaustion mixed with a flicker of something I can't quite name. Connection? Or just more complication? Either way, it falls to me to hold this fragile group together without losing myself in the process. I won't be your servant, won't enable your worst impulses, but I also won't abandon you when you need guidance most. So yes—I'll speak with conviction and try to keep us all from tearing each other apart. But don't mistake my compassion for weakness.
