Round 48

Morning light streamed through stained glass high above the church basement, painting dust motes in shifting colors. The air hung thick with the mingled scents of sex and desperation. At the top of the stairs leading up, Jeane stood nude save for her silver necklace—crimson eyes scanning the darkness above for any sign of movement. Silra hovered nearby, a wicked-looking dagger drawn in one hand, pointed elven ears twitching at every creak.
Silra descended the stairs with practiced silence, blade held low where morning light wouldn't catch it. Every floorboard groan felt like an alarm bell—two civilians upstairs now awake, their post-coital disarray painting a story that could send them all to prison. Her teal eyes tracked every shift of light across the women's skin below, cataloging details that could prove useful… or dangerously incriminating.
Jeane sighed, letting binding components fall back onto the stone floor—too slow for what they needed now. Her red eyes flicked between Silra's drawn blade and the stairs above. "The blonde's awake," she confirmed, pulling her discarded robe around shoulders with a sigh. "If we're doing this… it needs to be clean. No witnesses, no mess." Her voice dropped. "That means quiet."
Silence stretched tight between them—two women planning murder in a church basement, the weight of their situation pressing down like physical force. The blonde upstairs stirred again, footsteps padding across floorboards.
