Round 238 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

I grab Halie's shoulders and spin her behind me in one fluid motion. "Her succubus nature is winning—look at those wings, that glow. Forty minutes expired; you've got maybe ninety seconds before your barrier fails completely." I scan the room with a rogue's eye for weakness. The metal plates are holding, but barely. Jeane is thrashing now, eyes blazing crimson as she fights against herself and her nature. "I'm not killing our friend," I say coldly to Hera. "But we're out of time for your emotional support act."
I watch in horror as Jeane writhes on the floor, her body twisting into something inhumanly beautiful yet terrifying.
The building groans around us, the sound a low, ominous rumble that seems to come from deep within its bones. It feels like the entire world is shifting, and we are the only ones who can stop it.
"I have to help her," I whisper to myself, my voice trembling with fear and determination.
I take a hesitant step forward, then another, each movement feeling heavier than the last as I fight against the paralyzing terror that threatens to freeze me in place.
The air is thick with the scent of sweat and something else, something metallic and sharp that makes my head spin. It smells like power, like a primal force just waiting to be unleashed.
My heart hammers against my ribs as I approach Jeane, who is now curled into a fetal position, her back arching in a way that seems almost impossible.
"Jeane?" I call out softly, my voice so faint it's nearly lost in the air. "Can you hear me?"
I reach out a shaking hand, my fingers trembling as they hover over her shoulder. I know I should be running, getting as far away from this monstrous transformation as possible, but something inside me won't let me leave her side.
She is my mistress, my protector, and even if she's changing into something I don’t understand, I have to believe that part of her still needs me.
"Please," I breathe, letting my hand drop onto her back, feeling the heat radiating through her skin. It's like touching a live wire, sending sparks up my arm and down my spine. "Tell me what you need."
