Halie positioned herself between the writhing mass of wings and the prone form of Hera, her hands raised in a gesture that called upon what little divine energy remained within this corrupted space. The barrier shimmered into existence—a translucent wall of faith and will—but it wavered visibly, its edges fraying like smoke caught in a draft. She had expended too much already, the building's perverse aura sapping her strength with each passing moment.

"You're still in there," Halie said, her voice barely carrying over the sound of creaking walls and Jeane's desperate moans. "We won't let this thing take you." The angelic woman's eyes flicked to Silra, who stood nearby with a crossbow raised and aimed at Jeane's heart. "Stand down," she commanded, though it came out as more of a plea than an order. "I'll maintain this shield long enough for us to find another way."

The barrier held—just barely—but it wouldn't last much longer. Halie could feel the corrupting influence seeping through, her own body responding traitorously to the building's insistent demands. She gritted her teeth, forcing her focus back to the task at hand.

To Jeane: "You're no monster," she insisted, though the words felt hollow even as they left her mouth. The succubus inside her friend was fighting for dominance now, and Halie wasn't sure which outcome would be worse—losing Jeane to possession or having to destroy her friend to save the city.

Abby pressed herself against the wall, her wide brown eyes fixed on the terrifying scene before her. This wasn't how it was supposed to go—they were supposed to save people, not become victims themselves. Her fingers dug into the plaster, leaving half-moon indents as she struggled to process what was happening.

Jeane's eyes, she thought, they're glowing red like a demon in a horror movie. And those wings—actual wings!—beating the air with each desperate thrust of her hips against Hera's prone form. The building groaned again, louder this time, and Abby felt something cold slither down her spine.

Run, her survival instincts screamed at her. Get out while you can! But her feet remained rooted to the floor, paralyzed by fear and a strange, morbid fascination. She couldn't tear her eyes away from the scene—Hera pinned beneath Jeane's writhing body, Halie desperately maintaining some kind of shimmering barrier between them, Silra aiming a weapon at her own friend.

This is insane, Abby thought, completely and utterly insane. And yet, part of her—a dark, twisted part she hadn't known existed—found herself oddly aroused by the spectacle. The sight of Jeane's wings beating, her moans of need echoing through the room, even the way Hera's shirt had ridden up to reveal a sliver of pale skin... it was all too much.

No, she told herself firmly, trying to shake off the feeling. This isn't right. None of this is right. But her body betrayed her, heat pooling low in her belly as she watched the scene unfold before her.
