Round 158 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

I watch Halie step between Jeane and the rest of us, her posture protective as she offers to take the succubus out onto the balcony for a moment. It's a smart move - getting Jeane some distance from the group might help clear her head and rein in that demonic side of hers that's been causing so much tension. I nod approvingly at Halie, grateful for her quick thinking in a stressful situation. Meanwhile, my gaze drifts over to Silra, still hunched over those junction boxes with single-minded focus. The elf's technical prowess never ceases to impress me, even in the face of supernatural challenges like this building's insatiable demands. I find myself hoping that whatever repairs Silra is working on will be enough to stabilize things until we can figure out a more permanent solution. As for Jeane... I'm not sure what to make of her anymore. The succubus has always been an enigma, but now there's a clear battle raging within her - human restraint versus demonic hunger. Part of me wants to resent her, to blame her for the chaos she's brought into our lives. But another part can't help feeling sympathy for the woman struggling against her own nature. She needs support right now, not condemnation. With a sigh, I turn my attention back to the task at hand - finding a way out of this nightmare that doesn't involve surrendering to the building's perverse whims. It feels like we're running out of time and options, but I refuse to give up hope just yet. There has to be another way...
I watch Jeane storm out of the room after Halie, her body language screaming frustration and barely contained rage. My heart hammers against my ribs as I feel the immediate danger recede. Silra is still hunched over her workbench, soldering iron in hand, completely focused on the circuit board before her. She seems oblivious to everything else.
My eyes dart around the room, landing on the various tools and supplies scattered about—the heavy-duty drills, the stacks of reinforced steel plates, the welder. They look more like weapons than building materials now. A shiver runs down my spine as I remember Jeane's last outburst. She was so close to losing control.
I take a few hesitant steps towards Silra, wanting to be near her calm presence. "Is... is everything okay?" My voice comes out as a faint whisper, almost lost in the sudden quiet of the room. I know it's not really a question she can answer, but I need some kind of reassurance.
