I watch Jeane pace back and forth across the room, her agitation palpable. She's like a caged animal, all raw energy and barely contained fury. My stomach twists into a knot of fear as I see how close she is to snapping completely. Silra tries to talk sense into her, but it’s clear her words aren’t getting through the haze of lust and rage that seems to have overtaken our friend.
"Jeane," I say softly, trying to get her attention without startling her further. "Please, you're scaring everyone."
My eyes dart towards the closed door leading out into the main hall. I can hear faint sounds from the other rooms - moans, screams of pleasure and pain, the creaking of bedsprings - a constant reminder of what awaits us if we don't fix this building's problem. And right now, Jeane is the biggest threat to our safety in here.
I take a small step back, my heart hammering against my ribs. I know she won't hurt me on purpose, but when she gets like this, it feels like anyone could be a target for her frustration.
