Phase: resolution · forced · organic escalating

Silra's hands moved with practiced precision over the circuit board spread across the central workbench. The soft glow of her laptop screen illuminated her focused expression, casting sharp shadows across her elven features. She'd been at this for hours—no, days now, hadn't she? Time had lost its usual meaning in this madhouse penthouse.
The building's groaning intensified, a low rumble that vibrated through the floorboards. Silra ignored it, muttering curses under her breath as she traced connections with her multimeter. The air grew thick with pheromones, visible as shimmering waves that made her skin prickle. She could feel the demand radiating off Jeane—her succubus nature reacting strongly to the escalating situation.
Halie steadied herself against the wall across from Silra, face flushed and breathing uneven. The cleric's usual composure was cracking under the pressure of their impossible contract. Silra felt a flicker of sympathy but pushed it aside. They didn't have time for moral crises right now.
Abby's hands tightened on the workbench edge next to Silra, her knuckles white with tension. She hadn't said much since the last 'event'—the memory still made Silra's face heat despite herself. Or maybe that was just the ambient lust in the air.
The building's lights flickered ominously, and something heavy thudded against the outer wall. Enough. Silra slapped the multimeter down. "Halie," she called without looking up, "if you're done with your existential crisis about what constitutes 'contractual obligation,' could you pass me the soldering iron? The building is still trying to fuck us into submission, and I'd rather not test whether it can actually crush this floor flat."
She tapped a readout on her laptop screen. "We've got eighty minutes before something catastrophic happens—structural failure, toxic gas release, or whatever passes for an angry groan from this sentient pervert of a building. So unless you want to explain to the authorities why we're all naked and covered in lubricant while trying to fix a 'malfunctioning air conditioning system,' I suggest we focus."
Silra's teal eyes finally lifted to meet Halie's. "And yes, I'm fully aware that this is a morally grey area. But unless you've got a better solution than 'resist until the building kills us all,' maybe save the internal debate for your next confession?"
