Round 69 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

I watch Silra work on her contraption, my eyes darting between the intricate wires she’s soldering and the ominous rumble that seems to emanate from deep within the building's walls. The air is thick with tension, a potent mix of fear and an underlying current of something darker. I can feel it like a physical pressure against my skin.
Jeane's impatience is palpable, her frustration manifesting as sharp, clipped movements around the room. It's clear she thinks Silra should be focusing on more immediate concerns—like satisfying the building's demands directly.
But Hera is right. If we can find a mechanical solution, one that doesn't require us to compromise ourselves so completely, it could change everything. The thought sends a thrill through me even as my heart hammers against my ribs.
"I think what Silra is doing is important," I say quietly, my voice almost lost in the hum of machinery and the distant, insistent thrumming. I take a hesitant step towards Hera and Silra, trying to lend them my support.
My gaze falls on the intricate diagram laid out before Silra, the lines and symbols swimming together in my vision. It’s beyond my understanding, but I can see the care and precision in every line she draws. She's so focused, so determined.
Suddenly, a loud crack sounds from somewhere deep within the building's core. The floor beneath our feet shudders, more violently than before. A scream of metal on metal fills the air, high-pitched and agonized.
The sound is chillingly familiar now—a warning we all dread. Time is running out.
