Round 68

Phase: resolution · forced · organic escalating

Hera’s amber eyes went wide as she stared at the winged woman across the room—Jeane, someone had called her, though that name seemed utterly inadequate for such a creature. A succubus. The word echoed in Hera’s head with all the weight of legend and nightmare. This wasn’t some costume or special effect; those wings were real, moving with a grace that spoke of countless years spent soaring through the night sky. And they belonged to someone standing calmly in the middle of a New York penthouse suite.
The athletic woman beside her—Abby, Hera remembered—was rooted to the spot, her face pale with terror. Hera’s hand instinctively moved to her pocket for the phone she always carried, fingers closing around familiar plastic. Document everything. That was the priority now—not joining the orgy, not even understanding exactly what was happening. Just witness and record.
Jeane turned her attention fully onto Silra now, crimson eyes gleaming with an unmistakable warning. The elven rogue stood her ground, hand resting casually near a sheath that should have held a blade—except it was empty. Had she lost the weapon during the earlier chaos? Or had something more sinister happened? Questions piled up faster than Hera could process them.
"Put your blade away," Jeane said softly, her voice carrying across the room with an eerie clarity. "You’re making me uncomfortable." The words themselves were almost gentle, but there was nothing comforting about the way she delivered them—each syllable measured and deliberate, a predator asserting control over its prey.
Hera found herself taking an involuntary step back, one hand still gripping her phone through her pocket while the other moved to Abby’s shoulder in what she hoped was a reassuring gesture. They needed to leave. Now. Before this situation spiraled further out of control and they found themselves caught up in something neither of them understood.
"Abby," Hera said again, keeping her voice low despite the adrenaline surging through her veins. "We’re getting out of here."
