Phase: converging · forced · organic escalating

Silra's teal eyes bore into Jeane with the focused intensity of a predator assessing a rival. She'd seen enough to know that those wings spelled trouble—Jeane had been holding back, playing host when she was something far more dangerous. The elf moved with practiced efficiency, positioning herself as a barrier between the terrified newcomer and the succubus's advances. Her words carried the weight of someone who'd survived by anticipating every threat before it manifested.
"Unpleasant" in Silra's vocabulary meant bloodshed, and she was prepared to deliver on that promise despite being unarmed. The missing blade gnawed at her—she felt naked without its familiar weight in her hand. But years spent in the shadows had taught her to improvise when necessary. Every muscle remained coiled, ready to strike or defend as needed. Jeane's smile didn't reach those ancient eyes, and Silra trusted that smile about as far as she could throw the massive bed currently occupied by limp bodies.
She glanced at Hera, noting the other woman's conflicted expression. The rogue understood protective instincts but worried Hera might act recklessly if provoked. "Hera," Silra said softly, "stay put. Let me handle this." Her gaze returned to Jeane, unwavering. "Talk. Explain those wings and why Abby looks like she's about to bolt."
The room felt too small suddenly, the air thick with unspoken threats and simmering tension. Three women stood between Silra and the door—two of them potentially hostile, one a liability if things went south. She needed to maintain control, to keep everyone calm enough for negotiation while preparing for the worst-case scenario. Because when dealing with beings that could fly and feed on lust, "worst case" wasn't just a theoretical concept.
Jeane's laughter echoed oddly in the charged silence, and Silra's hand twitched toward a non-existent hilt. This was going to be a long night.
