The contract crackles in Silra’s hands, each word seeming to burn itself into her skin as she reads. The offer is tempting—power beyond imagining, protection from every threat—but the cost... Her eyes flick up to meet Jeane’s crimson gaze across the room. The succubus stands tall and proud, wings half-spread in a display of dominance that makes Silra’s stomach twist with something between fear and desire.

Halie shifts beside her, mace still gripped tightly but lowered now. "You don’t have to do this," she says softly, eyes fixed on Jeane rather than Silra. The cleric’s protective stance speaks volumes—she won’t let this demon seduce her friend without a fight. But something in her voice makes Silra wonder if Halie isn’t just speaking for herself.

Jeane’s smile doesn’t waver, but something flickers in her eyes—frustration? Amusement? It’s hard to tell with a being who’s lived centuries longer than any of them. She leans against the wall, posture relaxed yet somehow still predatory. "Take your time, little one," she purrs, voice like velvet and sin wrapped together. "But remember—every moment you hesitate is another moment your enemies grow stronger." Her tongue darts out to wet her lips—a gesture that should be casual but feels calculated.

Silra swallows hard, forcing her eyes back to the contract. The terms are clear enough: she signs, Jeane grants power and protection in exchange for... physical loyalty. What exactly that means is left deliberately vague—another trap waiting to spring?. She glances at Hera across the room, feeling a flicker of guilt as their eyes meet. Her ex-girlfriend’s intense stare is unsettling under any circumstances, but now it feels like a physical weight pressing down on her.

Halie notices the look and follows Silra’s gaze. "Ignore her," she mutters, barely loud enough for Silra to hear. "She doesn’t get a say in this." But even as Halie speaks, something in her expression softens almost imperceptibly when she looks at Hera—a crack in her resolve that makes Silra wonder again.

Jeane’s laugh cuts through the tension like a knife. "Oh, but she does have a say—whether she realizes it or not." The demon pushes off from the wall, moving with fluid grace across the room until she’s standing mere feet away from Silra and Halie. Up close, her beauty is almost painful to behold—every curve of her body seems designed to tempt, every feature crafted for seduction. She leans in closer, voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper. "You see, little elf, your friend here... she’s not as immune to my charms as she’d have you believe."

Halie stiffens, mace coming up a fraction before she forces herself to lower it again. Her cheeks flush with anger—or something else—as she meets Jeane’s gaze. "Don’t try your tricks on me," she snarls, but there’s an edge of uncertainty in her voice that wasn’t there moments ago.

Silra feels a jolt of panic—is Halie actually attracted to this demon? Her friend has always been cautious around supernatural beings, especially beautiful women who seem too good to be true. But now... there’s something in Halie’s eyes as she stares at Jeane that makes Silra question everything.

Jeane’s smile widens, revealing teeth just a touch too sharp to be entirely human. "Oh, but I’m not trying anything, little one," she purrs, gaze flicking between Silra and Halie. "I’m simply stating facts." She reaches out, trailing one finger along Halie’s jawline—gently, almost reverently—and the cleric shivers despite herself. "You feel it too, don’t you? That... pull?" Her voice drops even lower, becoming an intimate caress. "The way my skin seems to hum with energy when I’m near you... how every instinct screams at you to touch me, to let me show you pleasures beyond your wildest dreams..."

Halie’s breath catches, her eyes widening for just a second before she forces herself to step back, breaking contact. But the damage is done—Silra can see the conflict written all over her friend’s face. Desire warring with duty, attraction clashing with loyalty.

"Stop it," Halie chokes out, voice barely more than a whisper. "This isn’t... I won’t..." She trails off, unable to finish the thought, and Jeane laughs softly—a sound that seems to caress every nerve in Silra’s body despite not being directed at her.

The elf clenches her fists, contract crumpling in one hand as she fights the sudden urge to sign it without reading further. What is wrong with her? This demon is manipulating them both—using Halie’s attraction against her, playing on Silra’s fears and desires until she can’t think straight.

Jeane turns her attention back to Silra, eyes gleaming with triumph. "See how easily I can break your precious friend?" she croons, voice dripping with seduction. "Sign the contract, little one—let me show you what it means to truly understand desire." She reaches out again, this time cupping Silra’s cheek in a gesture that should be comforting but feels like fire against her skin.

Silra jerks back instinctively, heart pounding as she stares at Jeane. The demon’s beauty is overwhelming up close—every inch of her seems designed to entice, to tempt. And God help her, it’s working. She can feel herself wanting to give in, to sign that contract and let Jeane show her what she’s offering.

But then she catches sight of Halie again—her friend standing there looking lost and conflicted—and something inside Silra snaps back into place. She can’t do this. Not like this. Not when it means betraying Halie’s trust, giving in to a demon’s manipulation.

"NO," she says firmly, stepping back until she hits the wall behind her. The contract falls from nerveless fingers as she meets Jeane’s gaze head-on. "I won’t sign anything unless I understand every word—and even then..." Her voice trails off as she glances at Halie again. "I have people who matter more to me than power or pleasure."

Jeane’s smile doesn’t falter, but something flickers in her eyes—frustration?. She straightens up, wings unfurling slightly in a display of power and grace that makes Silra’s breath catch despite herself. "Very well," the demon purrs, voice still seductive but with an edge now. "Take your time to think it over—but don’t keep me waiting too long. The world is full of dangers, little one, and not everyone shares your... scruples."

With that, she turns away, the movement fluid and predatory. Silra watches her go, conflicted emotions warring inside her—desire clashing with fear, attraction battling against self-preservation. She knows she should be relieved, should feel safe now that Jeane is gone. But all she can think about is how much she wants to call the demon back, to sign that contract and let her show what she’s offering.

Halie moves to stand beside her, mace lowered but ready. "You did good," she says softly, one hand coming to rest on Silra’s shoulder in a gesture of support. But when Silra meets her friend’s gaze, she sees the same conflict reflected there—desire barely leashed, attraction warring with duty.

In that moment, surrounded by enemies both seen and unseen, Silra knows two things for certain: she’s made the right choice... and this is far from over.
