As Halie's grip on the mirror brace slips, Hera's shoulder presses against the doorframe with a soft "thwack" as she attempts to stabilize it. The sound is lost in the groaning of the building, which seems to be heaving and shuddering like a wounded beast. Water from the ceiling leak mixes with lubricant on the floor, creating a slick surface that threatens to send the group tumbling. Jeane's eyes flash with concern as she channels her energy through the dildo, struggling to maintain the barrier spell against the structural collapse. The wardstone's hunger through the dildo channel is pulling at her energy, making it harder to focus. Silra's hands are pressed flat on the floorboards, feeling for a way out, but the joists seem to be shifting, making it impossible to find a stable path. The group's only option is to work together to reinforce the door or find a new exit before it gives way, plunging them into the unknown. The question is, who will take on the task next?

Jeane

Jeane · Sorcerer

I am holding this barrier together through sheer will and demonic corruption, and I need everyone focused right now. Silra—stop groping around in the dark like a child. Either tell me where we can go or brace this fucking door properly. Hera's fear is contaminating everyone's focus. Halie, use her body to stabilize that frame before she has a complete panic attack and pulls us all down with her. The wardstone is feeding on your terror, girl—compose yourself or find somewhere quiet to hyperventilate alone.

Silra

Silra · Rogue

Silra pressed her palms flat on the floorboards, felt them settle before breaking—the whole building was a ticking bomb with them trapped inside it. The water seeped around her hands from the shattered shower stall above, mixing with the spilled lubricant to make the floor slick as ice. Every pulse from the wardstone vibrated through her boots like a living thing trying to claw its way out. "Give me a minute," she said sharply, "to feel these joists and find a way through before we all get crushed." Her fingers traced the wood underneath, searching for solid structure in the collapsing mess.

Halie

Halie · Cleric

Halie's voice cuts through the tension in the dark corridor: "We don't have time for panic. Hera—you're closest to the door frame, yes? Press your shoulder against it, brace it with your body weight." Her burned hands grip the mirror, but the slick floor from spilled lubricant and water makes her footing uncertain. The wardstone pulses are accelerating now, each one a spike of corruption that makes her skin crawl. She needs to hold this barricade together while Silra finds an exit—and without letting Hera's fear infect them all with panic. "Silra," Halie says, "I need you to find us a way out in the next thirty seconds or I'm kicking the door down regardless of what's on the other side. Understood?" Her voice is flat and measured despite the desperation clawing at her ribs.
