As the structural collapse intensifies, Silra's lubricant-soaked feet slip on the slick floor, sending her stumbling against Jeane. The sorceress cries out in pain as Silra's palm presses down harder on her back, desperately trying to keep her upright. The wardstone energy surges again, causing the air to distort and the walls to shudder. Halie grunts with effort, maintaining the barricade as Hera freezes in panic, her eyes fixed on the door. The wooden slats creak ominously, threatening to give way at any moment. The floor beneath them gives a sickening groan, and the sound of crumbling concrete echoes through the corridor. In the distance, a loud crash is followed by the sound of splintering wood. Immediate consequence: The barricade shudders, threatening to collapse under the weight of the falling debris, trapping everyone inside.

Jeane

Jeane · Sorcerer

The wardstone pulsed again like a diseased heart beating through the floorboards—Jeane grit her teeth against the wet rush of something tearing at her from the inside out, a sound she swallowed back down. Her breasts ached with contained energy, nipples hardening painfully as milk began to leak through her shirt in thin rivulets that spread dark circles on the already soaked fabric. The barrier spell vibrated through her ribs, each pulse weaker than the last. "Silra! Get that door barricaded—NOW—not later!" Her voice cracked with panic she couldn't entirely hide behind command. "Halie! Help me maintain this barrier or we all die right here!"

Jeane dropped to one knee, hand flat against the wall for support as the structure groaned above them. The floor tilted slightly under her weight, and more water flooded out from the ruined bathroom beyond where Hera cowered. She could feel the wardstone's hunger growing, pulling at something deep inside her that wanted to answer it back. "Hera!" she called out sharply despite the strain of holding the spell together. "Get away from there—it's not safe! Move!"

The demoness didn't dare let go even for a second—the energy would surge through and tear them all apart. But her control was slipping, milk soaking through her shirt faster now as the pressure built. She needed that door blocked before the next pulse overwhelmed her. "Someone has to answer that change," she ground out through clenched teeth, meaning both wardstone and Silra's hesitation. "And right now, it looks like I'm the only one with balls big enough for the job!"

Silra

Silra · Rogue

I slosh through the remaining lubricant on the floor, grip slick and uncertain. "Jeane," I say, voice sharp enough to cut through the groaning wood, "you look like you're holding back a tsunami with your tits alone." Her spell is vibrating her ribs from the inside out—that much is clear even in the dark—and milk stains are spreading across her shirt like accusations. The wardstone under us pulses again, slower this time but deeper. My hand finds her back, fingers pressing into muscle gone rigid with effort and fear. "This isn't working," I tell her, already calculating angles, exits that don't exist yet suggesting them anyway because that's what the mind does when it knows it's fucked. "If you keep holding that door, your heart is going to explode before the building does."

Halie

Halie · Cleric

I can feel the wardstone's energy crawling up through my burned feet, and the whole damn building is groaning like it’s about to split in half. We’re trapped between collapsing concrete and whatever sick magic is bleeding out from downstairs. Hera, get away from that door—it won’t hold much longer, and I don't know what touching you right now might do. The corruption's spreading fast, and we can't risk it. Please, just... back up a little further down the hall where it’s cleaner. Jeane, your spell is keeping us alive for now, but it won’t last if that thing downstairs surges again. We need to find another way out—breaking through a wall or something. I’m no rogue, but Silra might know how to make an opening without bringing the whole floor down on our heads. And someone needs to keep Hera away from that door while we figure this out. Can’t risk her touching anyone else if she’s contaminated. Not until we know for sure what this stuff does long-term.
