Round 144 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

At dark corridor in New York high rise penthouse suite, the pressure shifts from waiting to immediate risk. The ward answers the party's presence with a fresh pulse through the stone and no one can mistake it for safety. The nearest sign of danger is now structural collapse imminent. Someone has to answer that change now.
I brace myself against the wall, my heart pounding in my chest as the building groans around us. The wardstone pulses with an otherworldly energy, and I can feel it drawing me closer. "Silra," I call out, my voice trembling slightly. "You need to hurry! We don't have much time!"
I glance over at Halie, who is struggling to keep the door barricade in place. Her face is pale with exertion, and I can see the strain in her muscles as she pushes against the heavy mirror. "Halie, are you okay?" I ask, taking a step towards her. But then I remember Jeane's warning about the wardstone energy, and I force myself to stop. The water from the broken shower stall continues to rise, splashing against my legs as I stand there helplessly. I can hear the sound of Silra climbing through the ceiling access panel, but it feels like she's moving in slow motion. "Come on, Silra," I mutter under my breath. "We're running out of time!"
I look around the dark corridor, searching for anything that might help us survive this nightmare. But all I see are the toys and sex aids scattered across the floor, mocking me with their uselessness. I take a deep breath, trying to calm my racing heart. We're trapped, injured, and desperate, but we have to keep fighting. I just hope Silra finds a way out before it's too late.
Jeane felt the wardstone pulse again, harder this time. Two minutes left before the floor gave way completely—she knew it like she knew her own spellbook. The building groaned around them, a living thing in its death throes. "Silra!" She snapped her fingers sharply over the barrier spell keeping the worst of the energy contained. "Move! Now! We don't have time for hesitation." Her voice cut through Hera's whimpering and Halie's strained breathing. Authority demanded obedience, especially from the elf who should've moved already. The slippery floor made every step a risk as Jeane adjusted her stance, pouring more power into the containment field. Her demonic nature surged with protective instinct—these women were under her care whether they knew it or not. Especially Hera, trembling against the wall like prey waiting for slaughter. "Halie." Jeane's voice dropped to something almost gentle but no less commanding. "If that door fails, we all die. Use everything you have to keep it shut."
She could feel Silra moving above them, heard the scrape of metal on stone. Good. The rogue had sense enough to act when told—unlike some others who needed constant herding. The wardstone pulsed again, and Jeane's vision went white with effort. Her breasts ached as they began lactating, demonic milk soaking her shirt as arousal spiked from the magic strain. No time for that now. She focused every ounce of will into keeping that barrier solid. "Hera." One sharp word stopped the younger woman's whining mid-sentence. "Come here. Now."
Jeane extended a hand toward the terrified civilian, her expression unreadable. If anyone was going to shield this one from the worst of it, it would be her—because no one else seemed willing or able. The spell flickered at the edges as she stretched its limits. One more minute. Maybe less.
I grit my teeth against the growing weight of the wardstone's pulse, pressing every ounce of strength into the makeshift barricade. The mirror creaks in my grip, and through its surface I can see Hera crouched behind me, her face pale with fear. "Silra!" My voice comes out harsher than intended. "Where are you? We don't have time for—"
A groan cuts off my words—a sound from deep within the building's bones. The floor beneath us shudders, and a fresh spray of water shoots from the broken shower stall, mixing with the puddle of lubricant to make the already treacherous footing even more slick. "Shit." I shift my position, trying to redistribute my weight for better leverage against the door. My burned hands scream in protest, but I don't have the luxury of caring right now. The wardstone's energy is seeping through every crack and seam, a palpable pressure that makes it hard to breathe. "Hera," I call back without turning around. "Stay down. Don't move from behind me." My voice cracks slightly on her name, and I hate how vulnerable it sounds. But there's no hiding the fact that I'm terrified—terrified for her safety more than my own. The wardstone pulses again, harder this time. The rhythm feels almost... deliberate. Like it's counting down to something. I squeeze my eyes shut, trying to ignore the way my body responds despite the danger—the flush of heat across my skin, the quickening of my pulse that has nothing to do with physical exertion. "Please," I whisper, not sure if I'm praying or begging. "Let Silra find something. Anything."
But even as I say it, I know we're running out of time. The building is coming down around us, and the wardstone's hunger is growing with each passing moment.
