Round 135 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

At dark corridor in New York high rise penthouse suite, the pressure shifts from waiting to immediate risk. The ward answers the party's presence with a fresh pulse through the stone and no one can mistake it for safety. The nearest sign of danger is now structural collapse imminent. Someone has to answer that change now.
I glance at Jeane's barrier spell flickering against the door—it's holding for now but she can't maintain this indefinitely. The building groans like a dying beast overhead. Water from the broken shower is ankle-deep and spreading, mixing with spilled lube on the floor to create an absurdly treacherous surface. Hera clutches that mirror like it'll save us all. This is a shitshow of structural failure and bad decision-making. Halie's grip on the doorframe is admirable but stupid—she's going to lose fingers to whatever that wardstone energy actually is, not just metaphorical ones from Jeane's panic. Hera wants to crawl through a vertical shaft while injured? That's suicide with a dramatic flourish. The dark corridor beyond the door pulses with energy now—definitely not my idea of an escape route. If anyone asks me, I'm voting for the least actively hostile option which currently seems to be the wall opposite the wardstone door, though it creaks ominously too. I need Jeane to stop channeling everything into that barrier spell before she burns herself out or the wardstone pulls her through it. We're trapped in a wet, slippery death-trap and I refuse to die in a puddle of lube while some eldritch horror crawls out from under the building. The floor shifts slightly under my boots—yeah, structural integrity is gone, we're just waiting for gravity to collect its due. Time's up.
Halie grips the doorframe harder, fingers slicking in the thin film of lubricant spreading across the stone. The wardstone pulses again, something warm and alive sliding against her palm like wet silk. She shudders but doesn't let go. "Jeane's magic won't last forever," Halie says through gritted teeth. "And if that thing gets through..." she trails off, eyes flicking to Hera huddled behind her, clutching the heavy mirror. The elf's corruption is spreading—Halie can see it in the way her skin seems to move beneath her robes, like something writhing just underneath. "We need another solution," Halie continues, voice tight with effort and barely-contained panic. "Something that doesn't involve—" she swallows hard, unwilling to finish the thought aloud. Jeane's methods are getting more extreme by the second, each spell fueled by increasing desperation and arousal. The sorceress is fucking her way through a wardstone crisis, and it's working, but at what cost? "We can't keep doing this," Halie says finally, addressing the group but mostly looking at Jeane as she positions herself for another round against the door. "There has to be another way."
The wardstone pulses again—I feel it through my teeth—and Hera looks ready to bolt. I snap, "Move your ass toward that shaft opening now or I swear I'll shove you myself!" The spell trembles in my hands; maintaining this barrier is like holding a live coal.
