The bathroom became a crucible of opposing forces—structural decay and spiritual corruption fighting for dominance over the trapped women inside. The building groaned like a dying beast, concrete protesting its impending collapse in long, ominous creaks that vibrated through the floor tiles. Water gushed from the shattered shower stall, mixing with spilled lubricant to create an absurdly treacherous surface that threatened to send someone sliding into the wardstone's reach with each desperate movement.

Halie positioned herself beside the barricade of lube bottles and bondage gear, hands ready on the heavy wardrobe she'd helped drag across the floor. Her blue-grey eyes fixed on the door frame where Jeane maintained her barrier spell with visible strain—every pulse of the wardstone making her flinch despite her iron control. The conflict was obvious in her face: religious duty warring against physical revulsion at using sex toys as defensive materials, protective instinct clashing with terror of what might break through.

Abby huddled near the toilet, trying to make herself small and unnoticed while panic made her breathing shallow and rapid. Her wide brown eyes reflected every flicker of energy from the wardstone, every shift in the building's structure. She was the most vulnerable here—their civilian with no combat training, no magical defenses beyond instinctive fear. Yet she watched everything with desperate attention, cataloging every sign of impending doom.

The wardstone pulsed again, harder this time, its rhythm syncopating with the building's death rattle. The door frame crackled ominously as Jeane's spell strained against increasing pressure from both sides—corruption trying to force its way in while structural failure tried to tear the entire wall apart outward. Halie redoubled her grip on the wardrobe, muscles tensing visibly through her modest clothes.

"Halie," Abby whispered, voice trembling, "what if it's not enough? What if the whole floor collapses?"

Halie didn't answer immediately, her attention split between maintaining pressure against the door and monitoring every shift in the room around them. Another wardstone pulse made the bottles in their barricade rattle—plastic on plastic—and she flinched but held firm. The water from the broken shower was ankle-deep now, cold and treacherous.

"I don't know," Halie admitted finally, voice tight with barely controlled panic. "But we have to try. We can't let it win."
