Round 64 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

As Silra instructs, the group moves swiftly into the bathroom down the hall. The air thickens with tension as they squeeze together, their breathing synchronized. Halie's hands tremble as she attempts to calm the others, her faith wavering. Jeane's eyes dart towards the wardstone, now pulsing with an intense energy. "We need to move," she warns, her voice laced with desperation. "The floor is going to give way any moment."
As they press against each other, Hera's fear surfaces, her body trembling against Abby's side. Abby wraps a reassuring arm around her, but her own eyes are fixed on the wardstone, its energy building with each passing second. Suddenly, the bathroom lurches violently, and the sound of creaking metal fills the air. The group stumbles, their bodies pressed together in a desperate bid for balance. Water from the broken shower stall surges, threatening to engulf them. Jeane's voice cuts through the chaos, "We need to get out of here, now!"
Halie turns from the wardstone's pulsing energy, her hand falling away as if burned. "The building is alive now—it answers to her touch." Her voice carries a tremor she can't hide completely. The floor groans beneath them like a dying creature, and that sound terrifies her more than any demon ever has. She moves toward Silra but stops short of touching the elf woman's shoulder. "What do you mean, it responds? How is stone alive?" Her eyes trace the wardstone's surface—it pulses faster now, each beat syncing with a fresh creak from the ceiling above them. The building groans like something in pain. She looks at Jeane, then at Silra and Hera huddled together. "We need to get them out of here." Her gaze settles on the wardstone again, its energy calling to her despite herself. "The ward... it wants more. It feeds on pleasure and fear combined." She swallows hard, feeling the heat rise in her face despite the cold dread coiling through her gut. Halie takes a step back, putting distance between herself and the stone's insistent pulse. "I won't touch that thing again." Her voice wavers only slightly when she says it—she means it completely but knows what's required of them to escape this collapsing deathtrap. She looks at Silra directly now, meeting those sharp rogue eyes without flinching. "What's your plan? Because I'm running out of prayers that work on sentient architecture."
The wardstone pulses again, and I know we have maybe two minutes before this floor becomes a vertical grave for all of us. The building's groaning isn't just old pipes—it's structural integrity failing because something ancient and angry is responding to our presence. "Silra," I snap, "what the fuck are you learning?" She's tracing the stone like it's a lover she hasn't seen in years, and I don't have time for this kind of intimacy with death. Her fingers stop moving. "It responds like something alive. The edges are sharper now—the walls here too." Her voice is flat, practical despite everything. "Hera and Abby need to be out of the room before whatever's happening actually happens."
I grab Hera's wrist, pull her back from Silra and that damned stone. "You heard her. Move your ass into the bathroom down the hall—now. Take Abby with you." Fear makes me sharp, but it doesn't make me cruel. Hera needs a direct order before she'll act. The elf woman looks at me like I've grown another head, and I feel my patience thinning faster than thread under stress. "You want to live through this? Then move your asses into that bathroom and stay there until someone says otherwise." My voice doesn't crack despite the pressure building behind it. Silra's already moving toward the door, and I follow her because she knows more about this shit than anyone here—and right now, that counts for something. The wardstone pulses again as we leave the room, and I swear I hear it laughing at us.
