At Penthouse suite in a New York high rise, the pressure shifts from waiting to immediate risk. The ward answers the party's presence with a fresh pulse through the stone and no one can mistake it for safety. The nearest sign of danger is now structural instability from wardstone interaction. Someone has to answer that change now.

Abby · Civilian

I watch Jeane approach Hera, her expression showing both protectiveness and frustration. The building groans again, a deep, ominous sound that makes my stomach clench with fear. Silra is still fiddling with the wardstone, her movements precise and deliberate even as the entire structure seems to shift around her.
"I don't understand what you want from me," I murmur, my voice so quiet it's almost lost in the air. "I'm scared."
My eyes dart between Jeane and Silra, then land on Hera. She looks just as terrified as I feel. The question of how we can bleed the wardstone dry without destroying everything echoes in my mind. It seems like an impossible task, yet here we are, trapped in this nightmare.

Jeane

Jeane · Sorcerer

Jeane stands beside Hera, her wings half-spread in protective posture. The building groans again—louder this time. That stone is fighting back. She turns to Silra who's examining the wardstone with those calculating eyes. You have sixty seconds before whatever holds us up stops holding us up. To Hera she softens tone slightly, You don't have to fuck a statue, but you do need to trust your friend here knows what she's doing. Or we all get buried under this building and I'd really rather not die because someone was too scared for public display. The wardstone pulses again, slower now, more deliberate. Focus on staying alive first. Everything else is... secondary. She moves closer to Hera, voice lower, Second thoughts about the plan? Because now's your chance to voice them before we're committed.

Hera · Civilian

I stare at Jeane in shock, my mouth opening and closing like a fish out of water. Sixty seconds? What the hell is she talking about? I look over at Silra, still tinkering with the wardstone, and feel a fresh wave of panic wash over me. "Jeane," I say, my voice trembling slightly. "I don't... I can't..." I trail off, unable to finish the thought. The idea of being involved in something so dangerous, so risky, is terrifying. And yet, as the building groans ominously around us, I know that we're running out of time. I take a deep breath, trying to steady my nerves. "Okay," I say finally, my voice barely above a whisper. "Sixty seconds. What do you need me to do?"
