Round 58 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

At Penthouse suite in a New York high rise, the pressure shifts from waiting to immediate risk. The ward answers the party's presence with a fresh pulse through the stone and no one can mistake it for safety. The nearest sign of danger is now structural instability from wardstone interaction. Someone has to answer that change now.
I approach the wardstone, fingers tracing its surface. The building groans around us—structural whining, not just creaking anymore. Sixty seconds? That's optimistic. I glance at Jeane, then at Hera cowering nearby. Hera, if you want to live through this, come here. Don't worry about the stone—worry about the floor giving way under us. As for bleeding it dry... I turn the wardstone in my hands, feeling its pulse. I'm not destroying anything more than necessary. You two just need to stay close and follow instructions. The stone vibrates with potential energy. One wrong move and we're ninety stories of concrete sushi. I meet Jeane's eyes—see her impatience, her barely restrained power thrumming like a live wire. Time for precision work or we all die spectacularly.
I trust Silra's skill with chaos magic but not her restraint. The wardstone pulses faster now—minutes until structural failure becomes inevitable. Hera cowering nearby makes me protective, yes, but also frustrated we're wasting time. Fine. If this is what it takes to test everyone's loyalty and my own control, so be it. I approach Hera directly while Silra handles the wardstone. "Come here," I say softly to the cleric, softer than I mean to, which annoys me further. "You don't have to do anything you're not comfortable with." But we need that wardstone's power focused somehow before this entire penthouse becomes our coffin. And if Silra's method involves public display as leverage, well—loyalty demands strange tests sometimes. I glance at the wardstone again. Its energy pulses through the floor like a second heartbeat, faster now. "Sixty seconds," I call out to Silra. "Make it work."
I step closer to Jeane, my heart pounding in my chest. The building groans ominously around us, and I can feel the tension radiating from the wardstone. "What exactly are you planning here?" I ask, my voice shaking slightly. "How can we bleed the wardstone dry without destroying everything?"
I look at Silra, who is fiddling with the stone, her brow furrowed in concentration. The way she turns it in her hands makes me nervous, but I trust that she knows what she's doing. Jeane places a hand on my shoulder, her grip firm and reassuring. "We're working on it," she says, her voice softening as she sees the fear in my eyes. "But we need your help, Hera. And we don't have much time."
I nod, swallowing hard. "Okay," I say, taking a deep breath. "What do you need me to do?"
