At Penthouse suite in a New York high rise, the pressure shifts from waiting to immediate risk. The ward answers the party's presence with a fresh pulse through the stone and no one can mistake it for safety. The nearest sign of danger is now structural instability from wardstone interaction. Someone has to answer that change now.

Abby

Abby · Civilian

I stand frozen in the center of the penthouse suite, my heart hammering against my ribs like a trapped bird. The building groans around us, a sound that seems to echo the fear coiling cold and tight in my gut.
The air is thick with tension, each creak of the walls feeling like another nail being driven into our collective coffin. Jeane's reckless actions have put us all at risk, but it's Silra's assessment that chills me to the bone—structural failure is imminent. My eyes dart between the women, landing on Hera. She looks just as terrified as I feel, her hands twisting together in front of her chest. I want to reach out, to offer some kind of comfort, but what could I possibly say? We're all waiting for someone to have an answer, a plan, anything.
Silra is the only one who seems remotely composed. She’s standing by the wardstone, her body language radiating a strange mix of concentration and determination. Jeane watches her with an intensity that borders on obsession, her wings twitching in agitation at Silra's refusal to simply give in to chaos.
The thought of what we’re supposed to do—of what Jeane wants us to become—makes my stomach churn. Overload the wardstone? With what? How? The question hangs unspoken in the air between us, a dangerous and alluring secret we must now uncover.
I take a small step back as another tremor shakes the room, the crystal chandelier above us tinkling ominously. We are running out of time, and with every passing second, the building feels more precarious, like it might collapse in on itself at any moment.

Jeane

Jeane · Sorcerer

Jeane's voice cuts through the tense air, sharp and controlled. "Enough. We don't have time for vague threats or moral debates." Her eyes flash toward Hera, softening fractionally before hardening again. "Hera, come here."

The sorceress moves with deliberate purpose, her wings rustling as she approaches the trembling human woman. She tilts Hera's chin up, making eye contact. "You're safe. I won't let anything happen to you." Jeane's tone is gentler than before, a promise laced with authority. Her gaze shifts to Silra, who's positioned near the ominous wardstone. "We need that surge now. Whatever method you use—make it work." There’s no room for argument in her words. To Halie, she adds, "The building is holding, barely. We have maybe two minutes before structural failure becomes inevitable." Her hands glow faintly with arcane energy, a precautionary measure.

Hera

Hera · Civilian

Hera's gaze darts between Jeane and Silra, her heart pounding in her chest as she tries to make sense of the situation. The building groans ominously around them, and Hera can't help but feel a sense of unease wash over her. "Jeane, what exactly are you planning here?" Hera asks, her voice trembling slightly. "I don't understand what chaos has to do with any of this."

She takes a hesitant step forward, drawn toward Jeane's promise of safety even as fear gnaws at the edges of her mind. The thought of engaging in sexual acts with these women, especially in a situation where the building could collapse at any moment, seems both terrifying and exhilarating. Hera's gaze darts to Silra, who is standing by the wardstone, her expression intense and focused. "Silra, what are you doing? How can we bleed the wardstone dry without destroying everything?"

She takes a deep breath, trying to calm her racing thoughts. "I know we need to do something, but I don't want anyone getting hurt in the process. Is there really no other way?"
