Jeane's fingers brush against Hera's cheek, her touch sending a shiver down the woman's spine. "Finish what?" Hera stammers, her voice barely audible over the pounding in her chest. Halie's eyes widen in alarm, her hands fluttering to her mouth as if to silence a scream. "Please, Jeane—there must be another way." She glances at the wardstone, its pulsating energy threatening to destabilize the entire penthouse. The air is heavy with tension, the weight of their decision hanging like a guillotine's blade. The wardstone's power surges, its demand for commitment echoing through the suite like a primal scream.

Jeane

Jeane · Sorcerer

Hera's submission is beautiful—I want to drown in her yes—but I won't let Silra push us into a spectacle without understanding what we're truly committing to. I force myself to meet Hera's gaze, searching for something real beneath the fear and desire that clings to her like smoke. Finish what? My voice is steady despite the way my core thrums with something that feels too much like hope. The ward wants commitment—what kind? How far does this go before it's enough? I reach out, cupping Hera's face in both hands, tilting her chin up so I can see her eyes clearly. Her skin is warm beneath my palms, and I have to resist the urge to close the distance between us. Tell me exactly what you're offering. And tell Silra she can shut the fuck up for two seconds while we figure this out. I glance at Halie, then Abby—their fear is palpable, but it doesn't change what needs doing. If there's a way around this that doesn't involve performing for an audience of stone and magic, I'm listening. But if not—if Hera's right about what the ward wants—I need to know everything before we start. No half-measures, no stopping halfway through because it gets messy. My demon blood is roiling beneath my skin, responding to Hera's fear and arousal with a hunger that makes it hard to think straight. So which is it? Another way out of this nightmare? Or do we face the ward head-on and give it what it's asking for? I look at each woman in turn—Halie's worry etched deep in her face, Abby's wide-eyed terror, Silra's cold calculation—and feel a flicker of something that might be shame beneath the arousal. Because if this is our only option, I want Hera to know exactly what she's signing up for. No lies between us—not about the danger, and not about the fact that part of me wants this more than I care to admit. The wardstone pulses again, a slow, heavy beat that feels like it's pulling at something inside my chest. Time's running out, one way or another. So somebody start talking—honest answers only—and we decide together whether we're brave enough to see this through. I turn back to Hera, tracing the line of her jaw with my thumb. You and me. Against whatever the hell that thing wants us for. But I need to know what 'finishing it' actually means before I let Silra push us into anything.

Halie

Halie · Cleric

Halie turns from the pulsing wardstone, her face pale but determined. She steps between Hera and Jeane, positioning herself as a physical barrier. "I will not let you sacrifice yourself, Hera." Her voice is soft but unyielding. "There has to be another way—divine magic can hold this structure together long enough for us to find it."

She meets Jeane's eyes, seeing the demon blood roiling beneath her skin, recognizing the dangerous hunger in those depths. But she also sees desperation and fear—and something like hope. Halie knows that what Jeane truly wants isn't this twisted ritual, but genuine connection forged through choice rather than coercion. "Jeane," Halie says, her tone shifting to gentler appeal, "I understand the wardstone's pressure. I feel it too—an insidious need that crawls under my skin and whispers promises of release." She swallows hard, forcing herself not to glance at Silra or Abby. Her chastity is a line she cannot cross, even for this. But her ass... "Let me channel the divine light through you. Let me help you withstand it without compromising what matters most."

She reaches out, palm up in offering. "I won't judge your nature or desires—only ask that we find a path forward that doesn't require us to become what this place wants us to be."
