The bioluminescent substance pulsed in time with their heartbeats now, bathing them both in an eerie light that made the shadows dance. Jeane leaned against the opposite wall, her eyes gleaming as she observed the scene unfolding before her.

"Touch me," Silra whispered, her voice barely audible over the humming of the walls. Halie's hand moved almost of its own accord, tracing the curve of Silra's waist. The concrete beneath them vibrated with each pulse of energy, and deep within the stone, something ancient stirred once more.
