Round 351 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

As the blue glow intensifies, the air is charged with electricity, and I can sense the corruption's influence spreading. The creature's grip on Jeane's arm tightens, its fingers digging into her skin as it whispers, "We need to move now." The stone walls are closing in, their adaptive tissue movement becoming more aggressive. A section of the wall opposite them erupts in a shower of sparks, its pulsating energy surging towards them like a living thing. The creature swiftly moves Jeane into a crouching position, shielding her body with its own as it prepares to face the incoming energy. The sound of rushing water grows louder, and I realize that the tunnel is collapsing in on itself, our hiding place no exception. The sparks from the wall's eruption illuminate the dark space, casting flickering shadows on the walls. Jeane's eyes are fixed on the creature, her gaze filled with a mix of fear and determination. Her hand reaches out, hesitantly, to touch the creature's arm, searching for reassurance.
The creature's sudden movement to shield me catches me off guard, pressing my body flush against its back. I can feel the hard planes of muscle beneath its skin, hot even through our clothes. The sound of rushing water is deafening now, drowning out everything except the frantic hammering of my own heart.
"I-It's okay," I stammer, trying to push past the fear clogging my throat. My hand instinctively comes up to rest on the small of its back, feeling the tense coil of muscles there.
Even as I say it, a wave of cold washes over me as one of the walls begins to pulse with an unnatural, glowing light. It's beautiful and terrifying all at once, like staring into the eye of some monstrous beast. The air crackles with energy, raising every single hair on my arms.
"We need to get out of here," I say, my voice rising above the roar of water. I try to take a step back, but there's nowhere to go in this tiny space.
My fingers curl into the fabric of the creature's shirt, holding on tighter than I mean to. The heat radiating from its body is a stark contrast to the icy dread coiling in my stomach. I feel so small and helpless against the overwhelming power of what's happening around us.
