As I regain consciousness, I'm met with the dimly lit chamber's eerie glow. The pulsating film on the walls seems to be alive, its tendrils writhing like snakes. Hera's voice echoes off the walls, her words laced with urgency. "We have to move," she whispers. Suddenly, the floor beneath me gives way, and I plummet downward into a deep shaft. The walls close in around me, their adaptive material wrapping around my legs like a vice. I'm dragged deeper, the air thickening with the stench of decay. The last thing I see is Hera's face, her eyes wide with fear as she's pulled after me. Immediate pressure: We must navigate this treacherous descent before the walls' grip becomes too strong, risking further entanglement and potential corruption spread. New detail: As we plummet downward, the shaft's walls begin to display a series of cryptic symbols, etched into the stone in a language I don't recognize. The pulsating film on the walls seems to be reacting to these symbols, its tendrils twitching with an otherworldly energy.

Hera · Civilian

Hera's heart races as she feels herself plummeting down into the depths of the shaft, the walls closing in around her like a suffocating embrace. She reaches out desperately, trying to grab onto anything that might slow her fall, but her hands encounter only smooth, pulsating stone.

"Abby!" she cries out, her voice echoing off the walls. "Where are you?"

She strains to see through the dim light, her eyes searching for any sign of movement. The air is thick with the stench of decay and an otherworldly energy that seems to be emanating from the cryptic symbols etched into the stone.

Suddenly, Hera feels a rough tug on her arm, and she's pulled sideways into a narrow passage. She lands hard on her side, the breath knocked out of her as the walls close in around her legs.

"Abby!" she gasps out. "Is that you?"

There's no response, only the steady thrumming of the entity's energy pulsing through the stone. Hera struggles to free herself from the grip of the adaptive walls, but it's no use - their hold on her is too strong.

"Damn it," she mutters under her breath. "Okay, think Hera. Think."

She looks around frantically, her eyes scanning the narrow passage for any signs of danger or escape. But all she sees are more walls, more pulsating film, and more cryptic symbols that seem to be etched into every surface.

"Abby!" she calls out again, her voice echoing off the stone. "Can you hear me? We need to stick together!"

She listens intently for a response, but all she hears is the steady thrumming of the entity's energy and the distant sound of something moving through the depths below.

With a sigh of frustration, Hera begins to push herself up off the floor, her muscles burning from the effort. She knows that time is running out - if they don't find a way out of this maze soon, they may never escape at all.
