As Hera leads Abby deeper into the enclosed space, the fluid continues to pool around their feet. The air grows thick with ozone and decay, and I can feel the corruption spreading, its icy tendrils wrapping around my skin like cold fingers. Hera's hand tightens around mine, her grip a reassuring presence in the darkness. Suddenly, the walls lurch forward, reforming into a new configuration that funnels us into a narrow, winding corridor. The fluid surges ahead of us, its surface rippling with an otherworldly energy. Hera's eyes lock onto Abby's, her expression a mixture of fear and determination. "We need to move," Hera whispers urgently. "The walls are adapting to our movement. If we don't find a way out, they'll trap us forever."

The corridor narrows further, forcing us to huddle together for support. The fluid reaches our knees, its surface churning with an increasing intensity. I can feel the corruption spreading, its icy tendrils creeping up our legs. Immediate pressure: Do we try to navigate the fluid-filled corridor, or do we wait for the walls to reveal their next move?

I feel my heart hammering against my ribs as we move deeper into this nightmare, the fluid pulling at our legs with every step. Hera's grip on my hand is all that keeps me from falling over, the cold seeping into my bones a constant, chilling reminder of our predicament. When she says the walls are adapting to our movement, I feel a fresh wave of dread wash over me. It's as if this place itself is alive, and we're nothing more than insects trapped in its web.
"I... I think you're right," I stammer, my voice trembling with fear. "We can't just stand here."
I look down at the fluid swirling around our knees, its surface seeming to pulse with an ominous rhythm. It feels like it's alive, trying to pull us under into its dark depths. The thought makes me shudder.
The corridor narrows even further, forcing Hera and I to press our bodies together for support. Her warmth is a stark contrast to the freezing cold of the fluid, but it’s a small comfort in this hellish place. I can feel her heart beating against mine, fast and frantic like my own. We’re both terrified, but there’s no time to give in to panic now.
I take a deep breath, trying to steady myself. "We need to keep moving forward. Even if it's just one step at a time."
The fluid sloshes around us as I take another hesitant step, feeling its insidious presence seeping deeper into my skin. It’s getting colder by the second, and I can feel a numbness starting to spread from my legs up through my core.
"Is it... is it affecting you too?" I ask, my voice so low it's almost lost in the sound of our movement and the constant humming of the walls. "The cold, I mean. It feels like it's spreading."
