As Halie continues to heal Hera, her hands glowing with divine energy, Jeane approaches Aethera cautiously. The air around her begins to distort, as if reality itself is bending to accommodate her presence. "You may have shown us your power," she says, her voice firm but measured, "but you've also shown us that you're not above using a hostage. We won't let that stand." She holds up her rapier, the blade shimmering with a faint blue light, a subtle echo of Aethera's energy. Aethera's form shifts, her shimmering surface rippling with agitation. The tentacled horror in the corner begins to writhe more violently, its tendrils lashing out as if sensing the tension. Hera, still recovering from Silra's healing, stirs on the floor, her eyes fixed on Aethera with a mixture of fear and determination. The air is charged with anticipation, the party waiting for Aethera's next move.

Jeane

Jeane · Sorcerer

I approach Aethera slowly, my wings half-spread for balance but not aggressive posturing. I didn't want it to come to this, I say, my voice cool and even. You gave us no choice. Kidnapping Hera was a mistake—now we all deal with the consequences of your actions. My eyes track her shifting form while I keep distance between us; Silra's rapier glints on my peripheral but she's keeping position for backup rather than charging in blindly. We're taking Hera to safety, and if you try to stop us, I will not hesitate to use every spell at my disposal—including ones that might draw more attention than either of us wants. To Silra: Be ready to move on my mark. Halie needs space for proper healing, and I'd rather have this conversation without security interrupting it. Then back to Aethera, maintaining eye contact despite the unease coiling in my gut—this entity could incinerate me with a thought if she chooses. You're protecting something in that corner—that much is clear. But at what cost? Hera's suffering wasn't necessary, and now we know you're willing to use force against us. My hand lifts slightly, palm up, but not quite into a spell-ready position yet; more like I'm keeping options open. Last chance for peaceful resolution: step aside, let us leave with Hera and heal her properly. We can discuss whatever's in that corner after she's stable—without you holding hostages or using intimidating displays of power. To the tentacled horror still writhing in its nest: And your little pet stays where it is. One more move toward us and I'll incinerate every last tendril, consequences be damned. My eyes flick to Silra again—she's got her wire ready, Halie's almost finished with the initial healing pass, and Hera can likely walk now if needed.*

Back to Aethera: Tick-tock. What's it going to be? Peaceful parting or escalated conflict we both might regret?*

Halie

Halie · Cleric

Halie finishes her healing pass on Hera's wrist, the flesh now pink and healthy-looking again. She can walk—good job cutting that thing cleanly, Silra. She helps Hera stand while keeping one eye on Aethera's shimmering form. We're taking her downstairs immediately. Somewhere I can do a full assessment without this... tension. Glancing at the splattered blue fluid still glistening on Silra and Jeane. And we need to check if any of that splashed stuff is acting strange before it spreads like Hera's corruption did.*

To Aethera, her voice firm but not aggressive: You had your chance for peaceful resolution. Kidnapping Hera was a mistake—one I hope you'll reflect on. She moves toward the door with Hera steadying against her shoulder. We're leaving now to ensure she's fully stable. Once we're downstairs and she's properly checked, I'm more than willing to discuss whatever's happening here... without hostages or threats involved. You know where we'll be if you choose dialogue over confrontation. As the group prepares to move—Silra covering their six, Jeane ready with magic, Hera stable enough for slow walking—Halie adds: And if I see any of that blue fluid starting to glow or spread like corruption before we get downstairs, we stop everything and I purify it immediately. Even if it means drawing attention. She looks at Silra and Jeane in turn. Stay alert—if either of you start feeling off, say something before it gets worse. To Aethera one last time: This doesn't have to end badly. But our priority is Hera's well-being, and we won't let her be used as a bargaining chip again. You're welcome to join us for discussion once she's stable—without the theatrics this time.*
