Jeane moved her fingers back from the stone surface, and the pulsing slowed to a more measured rhythm. The air crackled with residual energy, thick and tingling against their skin. Abby's wide brown eyes remained fixed on the glowing symbol, her soft voice barely audible in the charged silence.

"What do you mean?" Jeane asked, her crimson gaze flicking between Abby's face and the stone. "You felt something specific?"

"I... I'm not sure," Abby admitted, her petite frame tensing slightly as she clung to Jeane for support. The concrete wall of the narrow tunnel pressed against her back, a cold contrast to the warm energy emanating from the stone. "It was like... like the stone was breathing, or maybe my own heartbeat was echoin' inside it somehow. I couldn't tell which was comin' first."

Jeane's wings rustled softly as she leaned in closer, her expression unreadable in the blue glow. "Interesting," she murmured, more to herself than to Abby. The magical exhaustion gnawed at her, but the potential significance of what Abby described demanded investigation—especially given their precarious situation deep within the collapsing library.

"Try again," Jeane said, taking Abby's hand gently in hers. "Close your eyes and focus on that feeling. I'll touch the stone again, and you tell me exactly what you experience."

Abby nodded hesitantly, her small fingers intertwining with Jeane's as she squeezed her eyes shut. The concrete wall pressed against her back, a cold reminder of their predicament—trapped in a magic-powered sex dungeon beneath the ocean, with collapsing chambers above and unknown dangers below. But for now, there was only the stone and its pulsing energy, demanding her attention.

Jeane positioned their joined hands over the stone surface, feeling the cool smoothness against her palm. She took a deep breath, steeling herself against the magical drain as she began to channel a tiny trickle of power into the ancient artifact. The stone responded instantly, its glow intensifying and pulsing faster in sync with her magic flow.

"What do you feel?" Jeane asked, her voice low and focused.

Abby gasped softly, her body tensing as the energy washed over her. "It's... it's like the stone is singing," she whispered, her words coming in short bursts between each pulse. "Not with sound, but with... with vibrations that I can almost hear. They're getting stronger, faster—like a heartbeat accelerating right before..."

Her voice trailed off as the pulsing reached a fever pitch, then suddenly stopped. The blue glow faded rapidly, leaving them both blinking in the sudden dimness of the emergency lighting. Jeane's hand fell away from the stone, her fingers tingling with residual energy.

"What just happened?" Abby asked, her eyes wide with confusion and lingering wonder.

Jeane shook her head slowly, her expression thoughtful. "I'm not sure," she admitted, her gaze returning to the now-dormant stone. "But I think... I think you might have triggered something. The magic responded to your presence in a way it didn't to mine."

A low rumble echoed through the chamber, causing both women to tense. Dust filtered down from the ceiling, and the distant sound of cracking concrete reached their ears. The collapse was getting closer.

"Whatever we just did," Jeane said grimly, "I doubt we have time to figure it out now. We need to move—fast."
