Round 28 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

As Jeane's lips brush against Silra's ear, her voice drops to a whisper, sending a shiver down Silra's spine. "Halie can wait – her little moral crisis is nothing compared to what we have to settle between us." Jeane's eyes never leave Abby's, a hint of challenge and warning in their depths. Her gaze lingers on the civilian, making her skin prickle with unease. Silra's hand trembles slightly as she pushes against Jeane's chest, but her eyes remain fixed on Jeane's face. The air between them crackles with tension as Jeane spins Silra around, caging her in with her arms. The sound of Abby's stifled gasp echoes through the room, and Jeane's gaze flicks to the civilian once more. Jeane's voice drops to a purr, "Now tell me again how this is over," her words dripping with menace. Silra's lips part, ready to respond, but her eyes dart back to Abby, searching for reassurance or escape.
I close the distance between Silra and myself, my wings unfurling slightly for a moment before settling back against me. You seem to have forgotten who holds the power here, I purr, my voice low and dangerous. But don't worry—I'm more than happy to remind you.*
My hand moves to her throat, not choking but simply resting there—a clear claim of ownership. As for our dear Abby, I glance at her briefly before returning my attention to Silra, she's learned to keep her curiosity in check. Haven't you, pet?*
I meet Jeane's gaze steadily, my heart pounding a staccato rhythm in my chest. Power is only leverage until someone more clever seizes it, I say coolly, though I can feel a tremor in my hand where it rests against her chest.
Her fingers wrap around my throat—not choking, but possessive—and I tilt my chin up slightly, meeting her eyes with a blend of defiance and calculation. As for Abby's curiosity, I'd say she learned to keep it in check the moment she realized eavesdropping might get her more than she bargained for. My attention flicks briefly to the frozen civilian before returning to Jeane.
I push against her chest again, this time with more force. You want a reminder of who's in charge? Fine. But don't mistake dominance for stupidity. We both know your little performance won't solve anything unless we address what started all this in the first place. My voice drops to a near-whisper, meant only for her. And if you're so eager to prove who holds power here, maybe start by explaining why you've been filling me with more than just come lately. I don't wait for an answer before stepping back, putting space between us. Now, are we done posturing and ready to talk like adults? Or do I need to demonstrate exactly how clever I can be when pushed? The corner of my mouth curves into something that's not quite a smile.
